Merle Evans McKim, 66, of Bartlett, retired employee of Conwood Company, died of heart failure Thursday, September 7, 2000, at his home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. Born March 1, 1934, he was an Army Veteran.

He graduated from Manning High School in 1952. His brother, Ronald and sister, Darlene, also attended school at Manning. Their father, Don McKim, operated Don's Lunch in Manning during the early 1950s.

He leaves a son, Rickey McKim of Bartlett; his mother, Bernice Moore of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Lue McClements of Lubbock and Darlene Cole of Dallas, and two brothers, Ronald McKim of Arlington, Texas, and Decker McKim of LaPorte, Texas.

The family requests that memorials be sent to the Ave Maria Home.
