William Wulf was born March 5, 1898, in Minden, Iowa, son of Ferdinand and Elizabeth (Boldt) Wulf, and his family later moved to the Manning area. Wulf was inducted into the Army April 29, 1918, and served with Company K-60 Infantry. He was in France from September 1918, until March 1919, seeing action on the Verdun front.

Wulf returned to the States, and died February 18, 1922, at the Fitzsimmons Hospital in Denver. He was buried in the Manning Cemetery February 24, 1922.

AMERICAN LEGION IN CHARGE

All Manning and surrounding country paid tribute today to the memory of William Wulf, Jr., World War I Veteran, member of the 168th Infantry, whose burial was conducted this afternoon by the American Legion. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand and Elizabeth (Boldt) Wulf.
The banks and business houses closed during the services and the schools also. The city was appropriately beflagged and draped in memory of the dead soldier.
