I am on a wild goose chase and was hoping perhaps someone would be able to help me. I am looking for information on Herman Kock, son of Claus and Sophia Kock. He came to America from Germany with his parents in 1883, and was listed as 10 years old. I have found him in the 1885 census in Carroll County, listed as 16 years old at that time, so I'm not even sure what year he was born. I don't know much more about him, except that he was supposedly living in Elk Point, South Dakota, in 1911 and in 1916, and in Oklahoma City in 1934. However, I have found a marriage record at the Carroll County Courthouse for Herman Kock, 22 (this age would coincide with the immigration records), and Lena Gruber, 21, on December 18, 1895, at Manning. I have no idea if this is my Herman, but perhaps someone knows something about this couple and could give me a clue whether this is the one I am looking for. I would greatly appreciate anything anyone can give me! Thank you.
