Dear Dave Kusel

I am trying to trace a USA branch of my husband's family. My husband's great uncle left Alsace in France at the turn of the 20th Century (it was part of Germany then) and settled in Iowa, and I believe it was possibly in your area. His name was Michel (or Michael) Spack and he was born in the 1880's so he would only have been a teenager when he emigrated. He continued to write to his mother in Alsace until her death around the 1930s I think, but then contact was lost completely. I found a Michael Spack on a page of your website and the dates seem to fit. I was wondering if you have any other information about him - if he gave details of his brothers and sisters back in Alsace? My husband's grandfather (who was Michael's much younger brother) was called Frederic Spack. I'd really appreciate if you could let me know if you think there is any connection? Many thanks. Kind regards, Lynda
